LeFrak Center at Lakeside Prospect Park Recipient of 2015 AIA Honor Award for Architecture

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) presented the LeFrak Center at Lakeside Prospect Park with a 2015 Honor Award for Architecture. Designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, the $ 74 million restoration of 260 acres of the popular Brooklyn park includes a new LEED-Silver certified, 75,000-square-foot, indoor/outdoor facility featuring a green roof and offering ice skating in the winter and roller skating and a water playground in warmer months.

Poulin + Morris created a comprehensive environmental graphics and donor recognition program for the LeFrak Center honoring the Center’s major donors and the LeFrak family. The designers used a contemporary typeface to display public information and donor names in stainless steel and white gold leaf throughout the Center—on main identification signs, along the perimeter of the skating rink, on the water fountain, benches, markers along the revived shoreline, and donor recognition walls.
